Android 5.0.2 is now up for the downloading if you have a Nexus 10 or 2013 model of the Nexus 7. If you haven’t received an over-the-air update for these, or you want to restore your device to its original state, then these are a welcome gift. Making sure your device installs the latest software is a good housekeeping practice, ensuring you have the latest features, close security holes, squash those pesky bugs.
Unlocked phones
HTC One M8: The developer unlocked editions of the One M8 are getting their turn at llipop. HTC usually drops the update on these versions before it goes out to the carrier models, so it’s a sign that it shouldn’t be long before they see an update. HTC pledges to get out the newest version of Android in 90 days, something worth considering when it’s time to shop for that next hset.
Nexus
Nexus 7 (2013): Android 5.0.2 can be had from ’s Nexus factory images site. This small update is for bug fixes, so grab it for a smoother experience. This is only for the -Fi model: The E edition is still stuck on 4.4.4, a pretty disappointing situation considering it’s a Nexus-bred device. rking with the carriers can be a tricky business. Nexus 10: hasn’t neglected its larger, Samsung-built tablet. You can grab the factory images for this one also, doing your own update or restoring it after some hard-core rooting.
Verizon
Xperia Z3v: If you use the ay Movies app you’ll like this update, as it adds the capability to stream in HD over Big Red’s network. There are also improvements to MMS performance, NFC transfer, a few other small fixes.
