This guide will provide you with a possible Buffalo error fix in Destiny 2. You will learn about all the possible reasons for this error to appear, and how to deal with each of them.

Log Out of Destiny 2

The most common reason for the Buffalo error code is an attempt to log into the Destiny 2 servers from both your console and PC, or from two PCs but with the same account.

All you need to do in this case is simply log out of your other PC or console, and try connecting to Destiny 2 servers again.

It is also possible that you may be signed out of your platform account while trying to log into Destiny 2 account. If so, simply log into your platform account, whether it be Steam, Xbox Live, or PlayStation Network.

Resubscribe to Your Platform Services

It happens. Some players simply forget to update their subscriptions on Xbox Live or PS Plus services once those are expired. This, unfortunately, may also cause the Buffalo error to appear. The solution is once again very simple: all you need to do is resubscribe to your platform services.

Check Server Status

It is also possible that your platform servers are busy at the moment, which can be caused by either scheduled maintenance or unexpected crashes. In either case, you can check the server status by following these links:

Delete a System File on PC

Some PC players have also reported that deleting a specific system file has helped them eliminate the Buffalo error for good. Here’s what you need to do, if you play Destiny 2 only on PC:

Press Win+R key combination. Type in: %appdata%. Press Enter or OK. Find and open the “\Bungie\DestinyPC\Prefs" folder. Find and delete “cvars. xml” file.

Now you can launch Destiny 2 again, and the error should be gone. Hopefully, these tips helped you fix the Buffalo error in Destiny 2. For more Destiny 2 tips and tricks articles, please visit our dedicated hub page.
