The Porto Mobility Ranger Quattro RRP is $11,000 for the two-battery model or $11,699 for the three-battery variant, but when you land on the Porto Mobility website, you’ll notice that the brand has reduced the price to $4,999/$5,698. That means you’ll pay less than half the original listed price, though we cannot guarantee how long this discount will be available for. What’s more, if you don’t have the funds to cover the entire cost of the Ranger Quattro upfront, Porto Mobility also offers a TimePayment scheme with financing from $54.23 per month. But getting a top-of-the-range product for a fraction of its usual price is something to consider, if you have the budget and the need for such a wheelchair.

The Porto Mobility Ranger Quattro isn’t called The Beast for nothing – constructed from high-quality, airplane-grade aluminum alloy, it’s the strongest folding power wheelchair in the Ranger family. This, along with the fact that it has a 20.5-inch wide seat, means that it’s ideal for heavier people - the maximum weight capacity is 550lbs, and that includes any bags and belongings you’re carrying with you too. The downside of all this robustness is that the Ranger Quattro weighs a hefty 90lbs on its own, plus an extra 7lbs for each battery. As previously mentioned, you can choose between two-battery and three-battery versions, with the latter costing you more. Want something lighter? Porto Mobility’s Ranger Super Lightweight folding electric wheelchair clocks in at just 46lbs with batteries installed. As you might expect, though, its weight capacity is significantly smaller (265lbs) and its seat is not as wide (16.5 inches). The Ranger Quattro XL’s seat is even wider than that of the standard Ranger Quattro, measuring 21.5 inches across, though the maximum load for this variant is 400lbs. As for how it looks, the Porto Mobility Ranger Quattro has an innocuous black and silver color scheme, offset against a rather muscular frame and striking logo.

A drive range of up to 45 miles can be achieved per single battery charge, while an impressive 25-degree incline rating means it shouldn’t splutter to a standstill while attempting hill climbs. Porto Mobility likens the Ranger Quattro ride experience to traveling in the First Class cabin of an airplane. While we can’t vouch for that , this all-terrain mobility vehicle provides an undeniably pleasant journey, whether you’re traversing indoor corridors or outdoor trails. The steering has been engineered to be smooth and the acceleration zippy. There’s also built-in suspension to increase your comfort. The 39-inch turning radius isn’t great, but it’s to be expected from a wheelchair of this size. You even get an under-seat storage bag for stowing away your essentials.

Another commented how, ‘This electric wheelchair is great, it has large wheels that allow it to travel across unpaved surfaces, it seems to climb relatively steep inclines and has more speed than we will ever use.’ A second Porto Mobility Ranger Quattro 5-star review explained how, ‘My wife uses this chair to get around the house as she is not able to walk or stand for any period of time. The chair is very sturdy and the batteries last for many days when she uses it in the house. It is also very compact and I can put it in the trunk of our Toyota Avalon when we travel.’ A less favorable user review brought up some important points: ‘Does not respond nearly as well as my Hoveround MPV.
