The announcement was made at the Pokémon World Championships in Boston, to the excitement of Pokémon fans everywhere.

A new fighter was also announced for the game, Pikachu Libre, adding to the game’s roster of fighters which includes Suicune, Charizard, Weavile, Gardevoir, Blaziken, Machamp, Gengar, and Lucario.

Until now the only way to play Pokkén Tournament was on a Japanese arcade machine, but now Pokkén Tournament is not only coming to the West, it’s also making its way into your home.

I’ve been waiting for this announcement, and could not be more thrilled. It will be interesting to see what other content will be in the game, and whether or not Pokkén Tournament will offer amiibo support. Perhaps my Jigglypuff amiibo will allow me to play as the pink puffball!

Let me know in the comments if you’re excited for Pokkén Tournament coming to the Wii U!
