Leveling up gives players a chance at more items, gyms, the quality of pokemon you hatch and catch, and can even limit which Pokemon players can power up. In order to get the full experience of the game, leveling up and gaining XP is mandatory.

Gaining mass amounts of XP does not have to be a tedious task. There are easy ways to quickly gain the XP necessary to engage those powerful Pokemon. Here are some tips and tricks to level up quickly and get access to those sweet, high-level exclusives!

Lucky Eggs and Incense in Pokemon Go!

One of the easiest ways to level up is by using Lucky Eggs in tangent with Incense. Lucky eggs give players 30 minutes of double XP. This will give players a chance to gain more XP for every Pokemon caught, egg hatched, and Pokestop spun. This is the perfect item to use when in areas with a boatload of Pokestops with lures. They’re also great if players plan to participate during a Legendary raid. Legendary raids give players 10000 XP but, with a Lucky Egg, players can receive 20000 XP! Pair this with a double XP event, and players can make upwards of 40000 XP in one fight.

Additionally, the Incense will increase the amount of Pokemon that spawn for 30 minutes. When used with the Lucky Egg, every Pokemon caught will just pile on the amount of XP trainers can gain.

Although players have the option to buy these items, they are also available to just be earned through leveling up and, sometimes if lucky, through Pokestop spins. Be sure to hoard these items to use them together!

Friends in Pokemon Go!

Players also get a chance to gain XP through friending one another. Increasing friendship levels can absolutely help players move up in the ranks. For every Great Friend level achieved, players receive 3000 XP. For every Ultra Friend, players get 50000 XP. And when trainers finally reach the level of Best Friend with another player, they can get 100000 XP!

Every time the friendship level gets close to hitting the next level, drop a Lucky Egg. This will help players garner a ton of XP. But keep in mind that players can increase friendship levels once per day per friend. Although working on friendships can be worth it, it does take 90 days of interactions to reach the level of Best Friend with other players.

Raids in Pokemon Go!

One of the best ways to level up is by Raiding. Specifically, Legendary Raids will give players the much-needed XP to keep moving up the ranks. As previously mentioned, players can get 10000 XP per raid, 20000 XP per raid with a Lucky Egg, and 40000 XP with a double XP event and a Lucky Egg.

Players should be sure to stock up on their Premium Raid Passes. This way, trainers are ready to jump into battle whenever necessary. If players are having trouble with finding a raid, there are local Raid groups available. Most use apps such as Discord, Facebook Messenger, or WhatsApp to coordinate their Raids. Players can also set up their own Raid Trains. This would be where a group of players goes from one Raid to the next to achieve as much Raiding and Legendary Pokemon as possible.

This plan can run a little expensive, as Premium Raid Passes are about 100 PokeCoins. If money is not an issue than this plan is one of the best. However, if money is an issue, one workaround is the free Raid pass. If players get the free Raid pass then wait a day, this will give players at least two free Raid passes at once. Use the first raid pass, then spin the Pokestop to receive the second free pass, which is technically the first free pass of the day.

Evolution in Pokemon Go!

Mass evolving is also an easy and awesome way to leveling up. There are millions of those pesky Pidgeys, Caterpies, and Weedles that just love hanging around. Catch as many of these pesky guys as possible. These Pokemon are ideal for mass evolution because they require such a low amount of candy, making evolving them far easier and cheaper than a lot of other Pokemon out there. Once players have a boatload of these basic Pokemon and an equally large boatload of their candies, it’s time to evolve, evolve, evolve!

Once players have a bunch of these Pokemon’s candy, it’s time to evolve! Drop a Lucky Egg and just start evolving these Pokemon. This method can rack up upwards for 75000 XP if players are fast enough.

Wait for a Pokemon Go! Event

Niantic is notorious for holding events giant events, inviting players from all over the world to meet up. This gives players a chance to meet up with other players and catch a mass amount of Pokemon, sometimes even Rare or Legendary once. However, not everyone can make it to location-based events. But there is another option.

Some of Niantic’s events are not location-based but are worldwide events. This opens the door for players to explore and gain more XP than before. The above tricks work extremely well with any Pokemon Go! events. When used together, this gives players the chance to reach levels of XP gaining that were previously not offered.

The Pokemon Go! events that are the most useful are always the Double XP events, which are generally worldwide and not location-based. Lucky Eggs and Incense are worth holding onto if a Double XP event is coming up. This gives players the opportunity to make more XP and, when paired with a Lucky Egg, players can make an astronomical amount of XP.
