Niantic has chosen to disable the Pokémon Go Battle League due to a major exploit in the game. Participating in the Battle League allows players to increase their Pokémon Go Battle League Rank. Additionally, players also get the chance to win rewards as they rank up a level. Pokémon Go Battle League players can participate in a maximum of 5 ‘sets’ in which there are 5 matches each day.
However, with the latest development, dozens of players were taking advantage of an exploit which let them win almost every match. The exploit basically lets players generate significantly higher energy from Fast moves during their Charged move animation. A player using this exploit managed to jump to the number 1 spot on the leaderboard. And this serious move didn’t go unnoticed.

The Pokémon Go Battle League has now been disabled until Niantic can release a fix for the exploit. The announcement was made on Niantic’s official blog. In it, Niantic has released the following statement:
Using an exploit or glitch to win battles in the game is blatant cheating. This is because a player unaware of the exploit will not be able to keep up with the attacks. Hence, the decision to disable the game mode will protect regular players from losing their rank.
In the statement, Niantic also claims that Pokémon Go Battle League will be enabled once the “trust contract” will be honored. Thus, players might have to wait a while before the game mode is available once again.
