The PlayStation VR is virtual reality hardware for PS4. Currently, a PlayStation 4 is required to operate PlayStation VR; however, making it compatible to a PC wouldn’t be difficult, because both systems have many similarities.

Ito said that Sony plans to ship more than two million VR units this year. The headset is being made available in early fall rather than of the first half of the year, which was the original plan. The release date changed due to higher anticipation for this device.

This hardware can be paired with the PS4 and its DualShock 4 controllers. The headset is coming with 50 games at launch. We’ve seen sneak peeks of games like Job Simulator and Eve: Valkyrie. Star Wars Battlefront will come exclusively to VR as well. John Koller, Sony Interactive Entertainment’s vice president of marketing, said Star Wars Battlefront will be the title that really attracts gamers. In an interview with Fortune, he said:

PlayStation VR costs $399. This price does not include the PlayStation camera peripheral used for tracking. There is a $500 bundle which includes the VR and camera along with other accessories. This bundle is available for pre-order right now.
