Although Sunflowers don’t have a lot of health, their healing and quick revives make up for it. I’ll help you out by going over what you need to know about Sunflower and the different variants available.

Check out my Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare 2 Beginner Tips and Tricks for more help with the game.

This guide will go over everything about the Sunflower class in Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare 2 including:

Sunflower Basics and Abilities - How to play the Sunflower and the abilities they have. Sunflower Variants - Each variant for the Sunflower and what they do. Sunflower Character Upgrades - Each upgrade for the Sunflower and what they do.

Sunflower Basics and Abilities

The Sunflower has a rapid-fire Sun Pulse as their main weapon. The default variant starts with 50 shots. They can move fairly quickly, but only have 100 health.

When you play this class, you’ll want to stay near teammates to heal them, while supporting them with your own attacks. Even though you can get vanquishes as the Sunflower, that shouldn’t be your main concern.

They can also revive teammates much faster than any other class, so you are a big help there as well.

Abilities

Heal Beam - Sends a beam that links to the targeted player. As long as you stay near them, it will continue to heal them until one of you dies or you switch targets. You can move, shoot, and do anything you want while Heal Beam is on. Alternate Ability: Rainbow Heal Beam - Works the same way, just displays the beam as a rainbow. Sunbeam - Roots the Sunflower to the ground and press the fire button to shoot a yellow beam at enemies. You can’t move while doing this, and you can stay there as long as you have energy. Press the ability button to leave early. Alternate Ability: Solar flare Beam - Shoots a green laser that is stronger, but goes away faster. Heal Flower - Places a potted plant on the ground that periodically makes sun that heals teammates who walk over them. You can heal the potted flowers you put down. Alternate Ability: Dark Flower - Places a potted plant on the ground that shoots nearby enemies.

Sunflower Character Upgrades

Sunflower gets character upgrades at level 5 and 9. When you get to 10 you can promote it to reset it back to level 1. This gives you a new rank and allows you level up again to get more character upgrades.

I’ll tell you what level and rank you get each character upgrade and what they do.

Base

Health Regeneration Delay Upgrade (Level 5) - Lower the time it takes before your health begins to regenerate. Zoom Upgrade - Increases distance zoomed in.

Specialist

Health Regeneration Upgrade (Level 5) - Increases how fast your health regenerates. Speed Upgrade (Level 9) - Increases your movement speed.

Advanced

Reload Speed (Level 5) - Increases how fast you reload your weapon. Ammo Upgrade (Level 9) - Increases how much ammo your gun has before you must reload.

Elite

Damage Upgrade (Level 5) - Increases how much damage you deal with your weapon.

Super Elite

Health Upgrade (Level 5) - Increases your maximum health.

As you can see, you don’t get upgrades for level 9 of the last two ranks. Once you get level 5 of Super Elite, you won’t need to level anymore for character upgrades.

That’s it for my guide on Sunflower in Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare 2. Let me know if you have any questions!
