The internet has exploded, sharing a petition for Liam Hemsworth to be the next star of the Australian The Bachelor now that he’s separated with pop star wife, Miley Cyrus. Fans have gone wild over social media with the idea and have since made the petition viral.
The celebrity couple, Liam and Miley, have called it quits after just 8 months of marriage and over a decade of dating. This on-again, off-again couple won the hearts of fans when they first appeared as on an on-screen couple on the film adaptation of the Nicholas Sparks novel The Last Song in 2008. Their on-screen romance blossomed off-screen and fans couldn’t get enough of the couple. In June of 2012, they confirmed their engagement, Miley being only 19-years-old and Liam only 23-years-old, but she called off the engagement in 2013 and they later broke up. In 2015, Miley became open about her sexuality, explaining that although she rejects labels, she does identify as pansexual. They had a rocky few years of back-and-forth, but managed to surprise fans by pulling off a secret wedding in December 2018 in their Nashville home. On August 10 - just 8 months into their marriage - the couple called it quits and a rep for Miley confirms that the pair are taking time apart to work on their careers. However, just days after their split, Miley was spotted in Italy making out with The Hills: New Beginnings star Kaitlynn Carter, who just split from husband Brody Jenner after one year of marriage.
Fans have watched as Miley moved on with Brody’s ex and as Liam has been spotted looking solemn as he spends time back home in Australia with his family. Fans’ hearts broke collectively at the sight of “sad Liam” as they refer to him, desperately wanting him to find love. Outspoken The Podcast has suggested the idea of the newly single Australian actor leading The Bachelor Australia in 2020. Fans have shared the Facebook post of Liam’s face photoshopped on a Bachelor 2020 poster. Check out the image below:
Liam is currently doing press for his newest film Killerman, which is coming to theaters later this year. The average time it takes to film a season of The Bachelor is around nine weeks, and it seems unlikely that the A-list actor has two-months to dedicate to filming the Australian reality TV show.
Even though there is clearly a history of Liam and Miley breaking up and making up, fans who are mourning the loss of this power couple have hope that because the split is just titled a separation and not a divorce, there could be a reconciliation in the near future. It’s a long shot thinking that this famous actor would ever consider finding love on TV on The Bachelor, considering he is such a private person, but it’s still a nice fantasy for fans. One thing for sure is that there are plenty of women lined up across the globe ready to volunteer as tribute to get a rose from Hemsworth.
